Leah Tenney is a 16 year old dressage enthusiast from Yarmouth, Maine. Leah began riding at the age of 5 at a small summer camp in Vermont. Since then she rode hunter jumper for a few years and then began exploring with dressage. Leah’s first dressage horse was a 14 year old palomino/paint horse named Travis, who went with her to local schooling shows around Maine. At the age of 13 Leah and her family bought “What a Lady”, aka Wilma, who was a 15 year old Oldenburg mare. Wilma and Leah started to compete at rated shows in New England.

At the end of the 2015 season Leah and Wilma qualified to go to Region 8 championships at first level. A year ago, the Tenney family bought “Weltino HW”, aka Tino”, a 9 year old Hanoverian who would hopefully help Leah achieve her goals in the future. In 2016 Leah and Tino got scores in the high 60’s and low 70’s and ended up 7th in the region for first level and Reserve in her region for year end awards. Leah rides at Vienna Farm in Gorham, Maine and trains with Tanya Rennie. Leah hopes to someday go to NAJYRC and of course the Olympics.
